INFO: Mule Deer Hunting in Colorado Unit 41
During archery and muzzleloader season, look for bucks at the highest elevations throughout this unit. Once the deer feel pressured they will move into dense coverings and can be difficult to find without going in there in search of them. Concentrate on the middle elevations during the 2nd rifle season. When the 3rd rifle season comes, focus on areas where the oak brush meets the pinyon/juniper cover. The rut is also ongoing during the 3rd rifle season, so keep an eye out for a doe because a bull is usually not too far behind them.

INFO: Elk Hunting in Colorado Unit 41
During the early seasons, look for elk at the lower elevations near private land. Look in areas that are hard to reach and the possibility of seeing an elk will increase. The 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons are over the counter in this unit. This causes these seasons to be a little crowded, especially if you are near main roads or trailheads. That being said, the total number of hunters is not overwhelming. Most elk are on private land during the 4th season. Try to look for spots where public land meets private land. Doing this will increase your odds of them crossing over to public land.
