  • This voucher is a unit-wide landowner tag and the buyer can hunt any public land including the Pecos Wilderness area of New Mexico that is located within the unit. There are also some areas that are outside of the wilderness that is public. Hunters can also hunt any private land that they secure permission from the landowner(s) for prior to the hunt. Unit 45 NM is a good unit and hunters can expect to see several elk if they spend time and ample effort in scouting. Trophy bulls can be harvested close to the 350″ range but hunters should realistically expect to harvest bulls closer to 300″.
  • The north end and southernmost end of the unit are mostly Sante Fe National Forest with the Peco Wilderness in the central part of the unit inside the Sante Fe Forest.
  • Elevations range from moderate hills to over 13,000 feet and more difficult terrain. Beautiful scenery with ample streams and water to help the big game survive.

HuntersDomain can assist you in finding an outfitter or a drop camp if you wish to hunt in the wilderness area and not hike in daily.

This is a fun hunt do not hesitate to call today for tags.
