Monte Villa Hotel
Occupying a 1930s property on Monte Vista’s main street, this hotel is opposite the Transportation of the West Museum. The traditional-styes rooms all include air conditioning, flat screen TVs and free Wi-fi and have minifridges, microwaves and coffeemakers. There’s a cafe, a restaurant and a pizza bar.
Sandhill Inn & Suites
On Highway 285, this casual hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Transportation of the West Museum and 7 miles from the Monte Vista national Wildlife Refuge. Other amenities include an indoor pool, a hot tub and gym, as well as picnic tables.

Housed in a low rise, wood paneled building, this kitschy motel is a 4 minute walk from the Transportation of the West Museum and an 8 minute walk from SLV Superbowl bowling alley. The rooms all have wilderness-inspired decor with wildlife murals and pictures, plus free WiFi. Some have fireplaces, microwaves, fridges and coffeemakers.
Rock Creek Campground
This campground and adjacent picnic area complex is located alongside the fast moving Rock Creek in a stand of mature Aspen trees. There are 10 sites ranging from 20 to 40 feet. Area amenities are tent camping, camping trailer, picnic table and toilets.
Comstock Campground
Comstock Campground is in the Rock Creek Drainage 18 miles southwest of Monte Vista.It has 7 sites and they are dead end spurs and vary from 35 to 40 feet in length. There are hiking trails, tent camping, camping trailer, picnic tables and toilets. Big game hunting access up trails # 702, # 703 and #704.
