Best Western Rambler
Next to fast-food eateries off Highway 25, this straightforward budget hotel is 7 miles from both Lathrop State Park and Martin Lake. The warm, unfussy rooms have free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus minifridges, microwaves and coffeemakers. Suites add separate living areas, pull-out sofas, whirlpool tubs and/or kitchenettes. Parking and hot breakfast are complimentary. Other amenities include a fitness center, a heated indoor pool and a hot tub. There’s also a business center and a coin-operated laundry.
The Lofts Downtown
The Lofts Downtown is a home away from home for anyone looking to vacation, recreate, or visit the area for whatever the reason may be. Located Downtown Walsenburg just off the I-25 Corridor, Highway 85/87, along Highway 10, and 2 blocks from Highway 160. Conveniently located within walking distance to Coffee Shops, dining, groceries, shopping, banking, and entertainment. Located above the famous Crafty Canary Brewery completely renovated in June of 2019 with an industrial yet modern chic decor. Rates start at $99/night. The Lofts include WiFi, 200 TV Channels, Netflix, Hulu, Alexa, and access to the Conference Room/Dining Room, Custom Kitchen and large Living Room great for groups or entertaining.
Piñon Campground
Piñon Campground has 82 campsites and features pull-through or back-in paved sites, paved roads, up to 50-amp electrical hookups, fire pits, and picnic tables. It also has new restrooms and pay showers in each loop. Public water hydrants are located throughout the campground but do not allow for individual hookup, and a dump station is available. Trash receptacles are located at the entrance to each of the campground’s four loops. Handicap sites are also available. Children will enjoy the centrally located playground, and evening programs can be enjoyed in the Piñon amphitheater every Friday and Saturday night from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The golf course is also within walking distance.
Dakota Campground
50 sites, All Year, All ages, Tents Only sites: 10, 6090 ft elev, Accepts Big Rigs, 40 pull thrus, 34 full hookups, 3 electric only sites, 3 elec-water hookups, 20/30/50 amp, 6 50 amp sites, tables, grill, water, toilets, showers, dump, RV Storage, laundry, internet, pet friendly and playground.
Hilltop Custom Meat Processing
At Hilltop Custom Meat Processing, we process Wild Game (Moose-Elk-Deer-Antelope-Bear-Goat) and Domestic Animals (Beef-Buffalo-Pig) There are no retail sales at this facility.
Bob’s Processing
Domestic and Wild game butchering and processing, included but not limited to; Skinning, caping , chilling, freezing, meat processing (we debone every piece of wild game meat that we process). We also do boxing, and shipping.

Giebel’s Taxidermy is a family/veteran owned business since 1991. We strive for excellence on every mount created in our 3,600 square foot shop that is located at my home Penrose, CO. We have created thousands of mounts from exotic to North American animals. We specialize in Big Game from shoulder mounts to life size mounts. We also do rugs, birds and reproduction fish. Extreme attention to detail goes into each mount, from hide prep to finish grooming and base detail. Each base is hand crafted in our full wood working shop. We strive to make our customers dreams come true while building lifelong relationships.
