The majority of unit 21B is covered in desert grasslands and desert mountains. Be mindful that the mountains in this unit are considered to be steep and rocky.

Vegetation in GMU Unit 21B NM

The lower elevations of unit 21B will bring you flat-rolling Creosote-covered hills. You will also see mesquite and juniper in the lower parts of the mountains. Once you reach the middle elevations you will start to see pinyon and juniper-covered mountains towards the north. The south side of the mountains brings you more of the rocky and grassy vegetation. Higher elevations consist of juniper, ponderosa pines, and mahogany.

There are two main highways in unit 21B. Highway 59 is in the northern part of the unit, while Highway 152 runs through the southern part of the unit. Keep in mind that most of the dirt roads in this unit require a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
