Only 9 miles east of Dinosaur via US-40ocated approximately 9 miles east of Dinosaur via US-40, Blue Mountain is a recommended hunting location for elk, but be prepared for rough terrain.

The campground is located 30-miles from Dinosaur, Colorado via US-40 W and UT-149. Split Mountain Campground includes four group sites that accommodate both tents and recreational vehicles. There is a minimum group size of 8 people and a maximum group size of 25 people per site. Up to six vehicles are allowed. No water, sewer or electric hookups are available at the campground. Water and flush toilets are available from April to late October depending on weather.
