Colorado Unit 66 Description

Unit 66 South Gunnison Basin Region: Gunnison, Hinsdale and Saguache Counties bounded on the North by Morrow Point Res., Gunnison River and Blue Mesa Res.; on the East by Colorado HWY 149, Cebolla Creek, Spring Creek, Cathedral Creek, Groundhog Park and Spring Creek-Cochetopa Creek divide; on the South by Continental Divide; on the West by Hinsdale-San Juan County line, Hinsdale-Ouray County line, Cimarron River-Henson
Creek divide and Big Blue Creek-Little Cimarron River divide, U.S. 50 and Big Blue Creek.

Public land in the area is abundant and varied–from sage brush hills to alpine tundra. Be prepared for cold and snowy weather during all seasons. Motorized travel is limited to designated routes, open roads should be
signed; please consult the current Motor Vehicle Use Maps available from the USFS and BLM. Off-route game retrieval with OHVs is prohibited on all public lands.
